October News from the NPNA

WELCOME FROM NPNA PRESIDENT

Dear fellow residents of the NPNA neighborhood:

As the new president of the NPNA Board of Directors I will like to thank the residents and my fellow Board Members for giving me the opportunity to serve in a leadership position.

The NPNA includes an area with a very diverse population of approximately 4,000 that extends form 3rd Street to Anaheim and from Pacific Avenue to Long Beach Blvd.

The goals for the next year will include miscellaneous community events to attract the residents of the NPNA area as well as the adjacent neighborhoods, in addition to improvements in safety, street lighting and landscaping.

We would like to create a new partnership with local businesses to support the community goals.

I am asking for your support and active participation to improve our neighborhood and to submit creative ideas to create a vibrant urban environment.

Pedro C. Costa, President, NPNA Board of Directors

K9 CORNER UPDATE
As fall kicks into gear and the weather starts to change, our neighborhood dog park continues to provide a well needed resource for both dogs and humans in the North Pine. K9 Corner located on Pacific and 9th remains one of the cleanest parks to walk your furry friends even after heavy rain due to the faux grass and pebbles that keep the park from getting muddy. The plants along the back wall were replaced with a more dog friendly species and are doing great. If you haven’t stopped by in a while make sure to stop in and say hello. Also, across town make sure to check out the Haute Dog Howl’oween Parade, always a great time for a great cause. http://www.hautedogs.org/howloween.html
